L’esplanade is served by an exceptional motorway network and by public transport (train, RER, bus) which mean that Brussels can be reached easily and quickly.

The E411 Brussels-Luxembourg motorway gives direct access to Louvain-la-Neuve via exit 8a which has been specially constructed to give direct access to the city centre.
2 main trunk roads give rapid access to neighbouring towns:
> the N4 for Wavre (5 mins.)
> the N25 for Nivelles (15 mins.)
